PS2 Slim – Disassembly: What You Need to Know

Easy there Cricket, kempc8 is (partly) right about the clock battery. There is no clock battery to disconnect in step 4, that is correct. But there is one in step 12 in a bracket, that is correct too. The reason kempc8 mentioned there is because there are other types of the PS2 slimline which do have a clock battery to remove in step 4 (seen in step 3 of this teardown)

After following all of the steps above you should have a fully disassembled PS2 slim. You should be able to follow the steps in reverse to put your PS2 back together. I included pictures of the screws along the way to help you remember which screws belong where.

It's years since I took apart a PS2 slim but remember it being a complete bugger compared to the wideboy. A few months ago I was trying to track down the 3rd party shell extension which enabled a hard drive installation but gave up in favour of buying another OG PS2/Network adapter.
